Bathroom Design Trends That Will Define This Year

January 30, 20255 min read

Bathrooms have evolved from purely functional spaces into personal retreats. Homeowners on the Eastside are investing more than ever in bathrooms that feel luxurious, calming, and uniquely their own. Here are the trends we are seeing most in our projects this year.

Spa-inspired showers are leading the way. Walk-in showers with frameless glass, rain showerheads, and built-in bench seating have become the standard in primary bathroom remodels. Many homeowners are choosing to remove the bathtub entirely to create a more spacious, open shower area. If a tub is desired, freestanding soaking tubs placed next to the shower are the most popular choice.

Natural stone and large-format tile continue to dominate. Calacatta marble, Carrara, and porcelain tiles that mimic natural stone are by far the most requested materials. Large-format tiles with minimal grout lines create a clean, seamless look. Herringbone and chevron patterns add visual interest to shower walls and floors without overwhelming the space.

Floating vanities and wall-mounted fixtures are gaining ground. A floating vanity opens up floor space and creates a lighter, more modern feel. Paired with vessel sinks or undermount basins and wall-mounted faucets, these vanities give bathrooms a clean, architectural quality.

Warm tones are replacing cool grays. After years of gray-dominant palettes, we are seeing a shift toward warmer neutrals — warm whites, creamy beige, soft taupe, and even muted terracotta accents. Brushed gold and matte black hardware add contrast without competing with the overall softness.

Smart storage is becoming non-negotiable. Recessed medicine cabinets, built-in shower niches, and pull-out drawer organizers are standard requests. Homeowners want their bathrooms to feel uncluttered, which means every item needs a dedicated, hidden home.
